Foreign currencies seized

Officers of the Customs Air Intelligence Unit seized foreign currencies from seven passengers without proper documents at the international airport here on Tuesday. The team carried out surprise check on the passengers bound for Sharjah by an Air India Express flight when it found assorted foreign currency notes such as US Dollars and UAE Dirhams in their possession without proper documents.

The foreign currency notes were seized and the passengers were offloaded. The total value of the seized currencies was put at ₹ 9.83 lakh. Further investigation was on, said airport sources.
