Fishermen detained in Andhra Pradesh

Fishermen of Akkaraipettai approached the district administration on Thursday pleading for immediate intervention for release of 19 of their fellow fishermen who were arrested off Andhra coast when they had gone for deep sea fishing in mechanised vessels.

The 19 fishermen had left Nagapattinam on July 7 in two mechanised boats. The Andhra fishermen had also confiscated the boats.
