Applications for patta name transfers can be submitted to the village administrative officers (VAOs) at the respective villages every Monday, said Collector Jayashree Muralidharan.

Pointing out that Chief Minister Jayalalithaa has introduced a fast track scheme for issue patta name transfers, Ms.Muralidharan said in places where a village administrative officer of a particular village holds additional charge of other villages the applications can be submitted to the officer on Tuesdays also. On all other working days, the applications can be submitted at the Taluk Offices or offices of the Revenue Inspectors or deputy tahsildars.

The applications should clearly mention the survey number of the land, the village name, the extent of land for which name transfer is sought and the applicant's full address and telephone numbers. The current land records and photo copies of the previous transaction should be enclosed.

Acknowledgements would be issued by the village administrative officer for the receipt of the applications, the Collector said in a press release.

In cases where there is no sub-division, the applicants can approach the zonal deputy tahsildar at the taluk offices concerned on second Fridays of every month (15 days after submission of applications) along with the original documents and the acknowledgement to receive the transfer order.

In cases with sub-divisions, the applicants can obtain the orders from the respective tahsildars on the fourth Friday of every month (30 days after submission of applications) along with the original documents.

The orders would be issued on payment of the prescribed fee for the sub-division of the land.

Applicants can also get copies of computerised chitta documents on payment of the prescribed fee. Complaints, if any, with respect to the issue of patta name transfers can be lodged with the tahsildars or the Revenue Divisional Officers concerned, Ms.Muralidharan said.
