The Cauvery Delta Farmers Welfare Association has decided to support the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam candidate in the by-election to the Srirangam Assembly constituency, scheduled for February 13.
Addressing a press conference here on Saturday, its working president Mahadhanapuram V.Rajaram said the association decided to support the ruling party candidate with a view to ensuring continuation of development works in the constituency.
The association has requested farmers associations not to field any candidate in the by-election. Farmers associations should wait till 2016 Assembly election to field their own candidates.
