The Sub-Regional Office of the Employees Provident Fund Organisation, Tiruchi, has settled 10,308 claims in September, says a press release from G. Sivakumar, Regional Provident Fund Commissioner-II, Tiruchi.Of these, 1,638 claims were settled within three days and 8,670 claims within four to 10 days.
About Rs. 46.36 crore was disbursed as claims settlement. Proceedings were issued against 35 defaulting establishments and Rs. 243.08 lakh was recovered. Damages and penal interest were levied on 107 establishments that had made belated remittances. The ‘PF Near You’ programme held at the office on Monday to redress grievances and invite suggestions was attended by about 25 persons.
