Eleven injured in Kokudi jallikattu

Nine persons were injured in a jallikattu held at Kokudi near Keezhapazhur in Ariyalur district on Saturday.

Nearly 500 bulls were released from the ‘vaadivasal’ and about 150 bull tamers took to the arena.

The event, which started around 8.30 a.m. came to an end by about 2 p.m. Nine persons, including two bull tamers and seven spectators, sustained injuries. One of the injured was referred to the Thanjavur Medical College Hospital, police sources said. Meanwhile, two persons were injured in a jallikattu held at Keezhapanaiyur in Pudukottai district during the day.
