Members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a demonstration here on Wednesday urging the State government to fill up the vacancies in government departments and condemning corruption in the Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission. The demonstration held at Srirangam was led by the DYFI Srirangam branch president Subramanian.

Thanjavur

DYFI cadre, led by T.Selvamani, president, Thanjavur district unit of the DYFI, staged a demonstration here on Wednesday. P.M.Ilangovan, district secretary, and K.Arularasan, district secretary, Students Federation of India (SFI), participated.They demanded that the practice of selecting candidates for jobs through campus interviews by public sector and government organisations, as is being done by private companies, should be banned. They also demanded ban on contract appointments. They urged the government to bring reforms in Tamil Nadu Public Service Commission.
