Diversion of vehicles for Vinayaka idols procession in Tiruchi today

The City police has announced change in vehicular movements in connection with the procession of Vinayaka idols for immersion in the Cauvery here on Wednesday. The diversion will come into effect from 2 p.m. on September 4 and be in force up to 6 a.m. on September 5.

Mofussil buses bound for Chathram bus stand from Thuraiyur, Ariyalur, Perambalur and Cuddalore routes will be diverted via Kollidam No. 1 Tollgate, Old Palpannai Roundabout, TVS Tollgate, Head Post Office, Anna Nagar Link Road, Sastri Road to reach Chathram Bus Stand in the city.

In the return direction, these buses will go via Karur By Pass Road, K.T Junction, Sastri Road, Anna Nagar Link Road to proceed in the same route.

Tiruchi-bound town buses from Lalgudi, Samayapuram, Manachanallur and Vathalai areas will come via New Kollidam Bridge and Tiruvanaikoil Trunk Road to reach Srirangam old bus stand. In the return direction, these buses will proceed via Gandhi Road, Tiruvanaikoil Junction and Tiruvanaikoil Trunk Road.

Srirangam-bound city buses from Chathram Bus Stand will be diverted via Main Guard Gate, West Bouleward Road, Nelpettai, Palpannai Roundabout, Chennai Bypass Road, Tiruvanaikoil Trunk Road and Gandhi Road to reach Srirangam old bus stand.

In the return direction, these buses will proceed via Gandhi Road, Tiruvanaikoil Trunk Road, Chennai Bypass road, TVS Tollgate, Head Post Office, MGR Statue, Anna Nagar Link Road, Sastri Road, Maris overbridge and College Road to reach Chathram Bus Stand.

City buses proceeding to Tiruverumbur and Thuvakudi from Chathram Bus Stand will go via Main Guard Gate, West Bouleward Road, Nelpettai and Palpannai Roundabout. In the return direction, these buses will come via TVS Tollgate, Head Post Office, MGR Statue, Anna Nagar Link Road, Sastri Road, Maris overbridge and College Road to reach Chathram Bus Stand.

Goods vehicles bound for Thanjavur and Pudukottai from Coimbatore and Karur routes will be diverted at Kulithalai Cauvery Bridge and proceed via Musiri, No. 1 Tollgate, Chennai Bypass Road and Palpannai Roundabout to Thanjavur and via TVS Tollgate to Pudukottai.

Goods carriers proceeding to Karur from Thanjavur and Pudukottai routes will go via Chennai Bypass Road, Cauvery Bridge, No.1 Tollgate, Musiri and Kulithalai to reach Karur, a police press release said.
