Kudamurutti T.Arumugam (40) against whom several cases have been registered was detained under the Goondas Act here on Tuesday on the order of the Commissioner of Police E.Ma.Masanamuthu.
A press release here said cases had been registered against Arumugam, of Mallachipuram near Kambarasampettai in Tiruchi, in Srirangam, Jeeyapuram and Fort police stations. The release further said Arumugam was detained under the Goondas Act as he had committed crimes detrimental to public peace and his actions caused a sense of insecurity in the minds of the public.
