CPI-M cadre stage protest

Communist Party of India-Marxist cadre on Monday staged a protest here opposing the move to open a TASMAC liquor shop at Ambedkar Nagar in Srirangam area.

Members of the Democratic Youth Federation of India and All India Democratic Women’s Association also took part in the protest.

The cadre assembled near the building for the proposed TASMAC outlet in order to lay siege to it. Police set up barricades, which lead to tense moments.
