College student murders hostel warden

TIRUCHI: A hostel warden of a private college at Jambunathapuram near Thuraiyur was allegedly murdered by a student on its premises on Wednesday. The student was allegedly enraged over the warden G Venkataraman (45) informing his parents about his poor academic performance. He was working as warden of Imayam group of institutions.

According to police, A. Abdul Hakkim (20) of Kunnam in Perambalur district, a second year student of B.Sc. (Agriculture), attacked Venkataraman with a knife in the afternoon. He was taken to the Government Hospital in Thuraiyur, where he was declared brought dead.

A case has been registered.
