Come Christmas, it is a celebration time for Christians.
Carol singers and musicians have a great opportunity to express their love and affection, beautifully describing the circumstances and ambience that had prevailed during the birth of Jesus.
At the Christ Church of the Church of South India (CSI) at Golden Rock, it was a joyful event on Sunday when 55 singers rendered the choir, with the neatly decorated manger on the stage depicting the serene scenery on the holy night.
The carol “O what a special night,” described the birth of the Lord which had delighted the cows, sheep and donkeys too.
CheerfulThe carol signified the cheerfulness of these animals, indicating the joy and happiness the Lord had brought to each and every living being.
The congregation was spell-bound to witness the carol on a lullaby for Infant Jesus.
With joy lit large on their faces, the choir members went beside the manger and had a glimpse of the Infant. “
The carol describes the beauty of each and every movement of Infant, with a twinkle in eyes and compassion in face,” said K. Jebadas Asir, organist.
Divided into seniors and juniors, a total of 55 singers presented 14 choirs for about three hours.
The carol came to an end with ‘Silent Night’ when the entire congregation rendered the carol holding a candle.
Of course, the presence of Santa Cruz delighted both the aged and the children alike.
“The members of choir team will visit each and every family before the Christmas,” says Rev. Fr. Christopher Chelliah, Parish Priest.
