Two persons died after the car in which they were travelling lost control and plunged into a farm well along the Tiruchi-Madurai national highway near Kodumbalur on Sunday.
Police gave the names of the victims as R.Santhosh (23) and his younger brother R.Gokul (18). Their father Rajasekhar, who sustained injuries, is undergoing treatment.
Rajasekhar was driving the car to Aruppukottai from Tiruchi when he apparently lost control. In the melee, the vehicle overturned and plunged into a farm well located along the highway, police sources said. The occupants and the vehicle were later lifted from the well.
While Santhosh died on the spot, Gokul succumbed to his injuries in a private hospital later. The Viralimalai police have registered a case.
