Ariyalur KVK forms Retired Youth Club

In order to rejuvenate the life of retired persons by started agriculture related ventures, CREED Krishi Vigyan Kendra has formed an association by involving retired persons who are involved in agriculture.

As many as 30 retired government employees participated in the preliminary meeting held at CREED Krishi Vigyan Kendra at Cholamadevi near Ariyalur district recently.

Speaking at the meeting, G. Alagukannan, Senior Scientist and Head, CREED Krishi Vigyan Kendra, said that the association would be called as Retired Youth Club. Retired Army personnel have also come forward to join the club. The members would meet frequently to discuss latest development in agriculture. The association would be useful to pool together their vast experience in agriculture. The KVK would also share its knowledge on various aspects of agriculture. The idea was to motivate them to start agriculture and allied agriculture related ventures.

He added that it has been decided to create a corpus fund with the contribution of members. It would be utilised as seed money for the agricultural enterprises to be started by the club. Similarly, a youth club had also been functioning with 115 youths from different parts of Ariyalur district. V. Nadanasabapathy, Chairman, CREED Krishi vigyan Kendra, Shobana, Scientist (Home Science), Raja Joslin, Scientist (Horticulture), Rajkala, Scientist (Agricultural Extension) and others spoke.
