Applications have been invited for financial assistance under the Unemployed Youth Employment Generation Programme of the State government.
Unemployed youth can avail of loans through for starting self-employment ventures under the programme. The maximum permissible loan with 15 per cent subsidy component is Rs.5 lakh for manufacturing, Rs.3 lakh for services, and Rs.1 lakh for business, said Collector Jayashree Muralidharan, in a press release.
Candidates in the age group of 18 to 35 with a minimum qualification of a pass in standard VIII are eligible to apply. However, the age limit for candidates from SC, ST and backward class communities, women, differently abled, ex-service personnel, minorities and transgenders will be 45. The annual family income of the candidate should not be more than Rs.1.50 lakh.
Applications can be had from the office of the General Manager, District Industries Centre, Collector's Office Road, Tiruchi-1. Filled-in applications, with copies of certificates of educational qualification, community certificate, ration cards or residential proof from the tahsildar, should be submitted before November 30.
