Tributes paid to Tyagaraja

Under the auspices of Aivannanathar Isai Aarvalar Kuzhu, Government Music School and other music organisations, a day-long music concert was organised at East Fourth Main street here to pay tributes to Sadguru Sri Tyagaraja on the occasion of ‘aradhana’ on Sunday.

A series of vocal, flute and veena concerts were organised all through the day.

The objective of the ‘aradhana was to encourage young artistes exhibit their talents, according to Nagarajan, president of the Ivannanathar Isai Aarvalar Kuzhu.

The artistes rendered compositions of the saint-poet. Bharadwaj Raman, grandson of Veenai Balachandar, was among those who rendered a vocal concert.

Senior musicians from various music organisations were present.
