Stalin participates in Srirangam temple feast

Deputy Chief Minister M.K. Stalin participated in a community feast at the Srirangam Ranganathaswamy Temple organised as part of the Anna Memorial Day here on Wednesday.

Mr. Stalin, who arrived here on en route to Pudukottai, participated in the feast along with Transport Minister K.N. Nehru, Collector T. Soundiah, Mayor S. Sujatha and other officials.

Similar feasts were organised at the Rockfort Thayumanaswamy Temple and the Samayapuram Mariamman Temple.

Meanwhile, cadres and office-bearers of various political parties garlanded the statue of Anna in the city. Cadres of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam, including MLAs Anbil Periyasamy and K.N. Sekaran, and Deputy Mayor M. Anbazhagan, took out a silent march from the Kalaignar Arivalayam to Chinthamani where they garlanded the statue of the former Chief Minister. AIADMK cadres, including P. Kumar, MP, and urban district secretary R. Manohar, MDMK cadres and members of other organisations also garlanded the statue.
