Students should grab every opportunity by developing their skills in tune with the expectations of the employers in the present-day industrial scenario, said A.V. Krishnan, Executive Director, Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL), Tiruchi.

Delivering a lecture on ‘Job opportunities in public sector’ at a day-long workshop for MBA and Engineering students of the K.S.R. College of Engineering, Tiruchengode, organised by the Tiruchi Academy for Competitive Exams (TRACE) in the city on Friday, Mr. Krishnan said that with the advent of globalisation, efficiency and competence have become the watchwords, eliminating disparities between the private and public sector.

Young entrepreneurs and young engineers have a greater role to play in facing future challenges of the country, he said.

BHEL’s recruitment process focussed on team spirit and communication skills, Mr. Krishnan said.

J.V. Gungune, Executive Director, Dalmia Cements (Bharath) Limited, in his lecture on ‘Job opportunities in private sector,’ explained the avenues being provided by his company for promoting youth power.
