About 410 kg of rice was seized from the house of a noon meal centre assistant at Sirukadambur in the district on Sunday.
The rice, meant for a noon meal centre, was seized during a raid by a team of officials. The rice was handed over to the Tamil Nadu Civil Supplies godown, Collector T.K. Ponnusamy said in a press release. The assistant has been placed under suspension. Departmental action has also been ordered against the noon meal organiser.
