T. Senthil Kumar assumed office as the Tiruchi Superintendent of Police on Sunday.
He replaces SP Nisha Parthiban.
A 2003 batch officer, Mr. Senthil Kumar joined the Tamil Nadu Police force as a Deputy Superintendent of Police and served in many sub-divisions across the State.
Subsequently, he was promoted as Additional Superintendent of Police and served in Tiruvallur district for over three years.
The State government gave him an accelerated promotion and a cash award for having taken part in the Puthur storming operation in October 2013 that led to the arrest of three suspected fundamentalists.
Prior to being posted to Tiruchi as Superintendent of Police, Mr. Senthil Kumar was Deputy Commissioner of Police, Flower Bazaar in Chennai City, for a little over two years.
