Distribution of ‘clean and green’ awards to educational institutions and special awards to civic and students’ Exnora marked the 20 anniversary celebration of Tiruchi District Exnora here on Friday.
The Exnora Innovator award was given to K. Balamurugan, Regional Passport Officer, Tiruchi on the occasion. The District Collector Jayashree Muralidharan has been chosen for the Exnora Excellence Award.
M.B. Nirmal, founder chairman, Exnora International, Chennai said it was essential to live in harmony with nature in the wake of global climatic changes. Mr. Balamurugan said everyone had a responsibility to protect the earth and natural resources.
Dean, Training and Placement, SASTRA University and founder secretary and advisor, Tiruchi District Exnora, V. Badrinath, Tiruchi District Exnora honorary president C. Balasubramanian, former president G. Subramanian and Exnora members participated.
The ‘clean and green’ award -2012 in the schools category went to Chinmaya Vidyalaya, Tiruchi, while the M.A.M. Group of Institutions, Siruganur got the award in the College category. The Zonal Railway Training Institute, Tiruchi was given the award in the government office category.
Civic and students exnora associated with the Tiruchi District Exnora for over 10 years were honoured. The Tiruchi District Exnora which was adjudged the best in the State by Exnora International was presented with an award on the occasion.
