The 5 (Tamil Nadu) Naval unit N.C.C. of St. Joseph’s College Higher Secondary School organised a cancer awareness rally in the city today. Flagged off by the school’s headmaster, Rev. L. Francis Xavier, the rally was populated by NCC cadets who carried placards and raised slogans regarding cancer and its prevention.

The cadets also distributed pamphlets to the public which touched upon the seven symptoms of cancer, various types of cancer, carcinogens, and specific symptoms for the most common cancer types such as mouth cancer, uterine cancer and chest cancer among other things.

The rally, which was flagged off at the Chattaram bus stand progressed towards the Kamarajar statue and Anna statue before winding up. Other members of the school management were also present at the rally.
