A 73-year-old man has been arrested under the POSCO Act on the charge of sexually harassing a girl here.
P. Vetrirajan, said to be a pastor and a resident of Subramaniapuram, was sent to remand on Friday.
The victim is studying eighth standard and was being taken care of by her grandmother as the girl’s mother was mentally ill and her father had left the family, said the police.
The pastor had been frequenting her house during prayer meetings and allegedly exploited the poor conditions in the family. Vetrirajan had allegedly committed the offence while bringing the girl back from her school on Thursday evening.
On a complaint from the grandmother, the Golden Rock All Women Police registered a case and arrested him.
