70 receive welfare aid

Transport Minister K.N.Nehru distributed welfare assistance, including old age and widow pension orders, to 70 beneficiaries at a function held at Azhvarthoppu in the city on Sunday.

Mr.Nehru distributed sanction orders for old age pension to 14 persons, destitute persons assistance to 13 , widows pension to 35 persons and monthly assistance to eight farm labourers. Each beneficiary would get a monthly government assistance of Rs.400. He also distributed financial relief of Rs.15,000 to 15 persons who were affected in recent a fire accident at Mariamman Kovil Street at Khajapettai.
