About 2,500 candidates from Tiruchi district appeared for the written examination conducted by the Teachers' Recruitment Board, Tamil Nadu, on Sunday for direct recruitment of 34 Assistant Elementary Educational Officers (AEEO).
The examination was conducted at seven centres across the district. Candidates below 35 years with a bachelor's degree and a B.Ed. took up the examination, conducted throughout the State. Chief Educational Officer K. Selvakumar inspected a few centres.
The written test will be followed by an interview. The TRB is conducting the direct recruitment exercise for AEEO post after a gap of two years.
