18 persons arrested for communal clash

As many as 18 persons have been arrested for involving themselves in the communal clash that erupted between two communities belonging to two villages.

A brawl between two youths belonging to dalit hamlet of Perumalpalayam and caste hindus of neighbouring Navapalayam snowballed into a clash on Sunday.

A motorcycle was smashed and a house was set on fire. Tiruvannamalai SP R.Ponni brought the situation under control. Kadaladi police personnel booked cases against persons form both the villages and nine persons were arrested on Monday.
