131 candidates take provisional admission

Following the first round of seat allotment in the AIEEE 2011 counselling, a total of 131 students – 121 B.Tech and 10 B.Arch. students – reported at the National Institute of Technology – Tiruchi (NIT-T) from June 26 to July 2 for taking provisional admission letters.

For admission into B.Tech / B.Arch programmes in 30 NITs, five IIT's, and 13 State and Centrally-funded institutions, the online process of choice filling was carried out from June 11 to 23.

Accompanied by parents and guardians, 211 candidates took guidance from the Reporting-cum-Help Centre for registration and choice filling at NIT-T, said the Dean – Academic and Centre In-Charge N.Anantharaman and Deputy Centre In-Charge S.T.Ramesh.

Another reporting centre in Tamil Nadu functioned at the Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design, and Manufacturing (IIITDM), Kancheepuram (located at IIT-Madras campus).

The next round of allotment will be made by the Central Counselling Board on July 5 and students have to report from July 6 to 10 at the reporting centres, a communication said.
