Youth commission registers case

The Kerala State Youth Commission has registered a case in connection with an incident in which a youth was allegedly assaulted and prevented from entering the college to appear for examinations by the members of a student organisation.

According to an official release, the complaint was submitted by Aju K. Madhu, a second-year student of the Government Sanskrit College, Thiruvananthapuram. On the basis of a direction issued by Commission chairman R.V. Rajesh to the Cantonment Assistant Commissioner, the complainant was provided police protection to enter the campus and appear for his examinations.

Explanation sought

The Commission also sought an explanation from the college Principal for failing to act on complaints regarding ragging.
