A 32-year-old man who surreptitiously took videos on his mobile phone of intimate moments he shared with a live-in partner and shared the same with his friends on messaging service WhatsApp has been arrested by the police.
S. Ujjwal Kumar, Circle Inspector, Poovar, said Anil Kumar of Mulluvila near Kanjiramkulam, a junior artiste in Malayalam cinemas and television serials, had made videos and taken photographs of his intimate moments with the woman, hailing from Pathanapuram in Kollam district.
The woman, who is now pregnant, came to know of this and lodged a complaint with the police, following which the accused is said to have threatened her over phone. He had gone into hiding but was traced using mobile phone signals to Punalur, from where he was arrested on Thursday. The videos and photographs had been recovered from his phone, N. Jayakumar, Dy.SP, Neyyattinkara, said. He added that the accused had lived with the woman at Kaivanvila and Mulloor while the woman was fighting a case for divorce from her husband.
The accused had also allegedly printed posters and pictures to malign the woman, which were recovered from his bag after his arrest.
