Women’s panel takes case against activist

The State Women’s Commission has taken a suo motu case against activist Firoz Kunnumparambil for his remarks against women.

Commission Chairperson M.C. Josephine said the police should take action against him at the earliest. She said he had insulted all the women in the State and this could not be allowed. He claimed to perform charitable activities, but such a person should not make such disparaging remarks against women. Such people should be singled out by society, she said.

‘Insulted women’

By using derogatory terms for a woman in a live video on a social media platform, he had insulted all women.

The women’s commission would take strict action against him, Ms. Josephine said.
