Wife of P. Govinda Pillai dead

M.J. Rajamma, wife of the late Marxist scholar P. Govinda Pillai, passed away here late Tuesday night. She was 89.

A former professor of philosophy at various government colleges, Ms. Rajamma died at a private hospital due to age-related ailments.

She is survived by son M.G. Radhakrishnan (Editor, Asianet News) and daughter R. Parvathy Devi (Member, Kerala Public Service Commission). Former legislator V. Sivankutty is her son-in-law.

The cremation will take place at the electric crematorium at Thycaud in the city at 5 p.m. on Wednesday.
