Weapons, including swords, and chemicals that were allegedly used to manufacture crude bombs were allegedly seized from an office of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) in Nedumangad on Wednesday.

The raid led by Nedumangad Dy.SP. D. Asokan led to the seizure of swords, daggers, wooden sticks, a sack of stones and two bottles of hydrogen peroxide. The operation was conducted in connection with the ongoing probe into the violence that had unfolded on the hartal day on January 3 when country bombs were hurled at the Nedumangad police station, official sources said.

The prime accused, Praveen, a RSS worker who hails from Nooranad, was still on the run.

The weapons were purportedly found from a room where the accused used to reside. The police suspected the weapons to have been used for the violence. A look-out notice had been issued for the absconding accused.
