VS slams Chennithala

Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala’s decision to probe the tampering of the Attakulangara sub-jail register when solar scam accused Saritha S. Nair was imprisoned there amounted to contempt of the subordinate judiciary, Leader of the Opposition V.S. Achuthanandan has said.

The High Court was initiating action against the Additional Chief Judicial Magistrate who refused to record the statement of Saritha. The jail register was found to have been tampered with. The decision to entrust the Prisons IG with the probe was meant to help the accused, he said.
