Vizhinjam: progress reviewed

A meeting chaired by Minister for Ports K. Babu here on Thursday reviewed the progress of Vizhinjam International Deepwater Multipurpose seaport project.

Vice-Chairman, Planning Board, K.M. Chandrasekhar; and Gajendra Haldea, Principal Adviser of infrastructure at Planning Commission, attended the meeting as invitees.

Chief Secretary Jiji Thomson; Principal Secretary, Ports, James Varghese; CEO, Vizhinjam International Seaport Limited, A.S. Suresh Babu; and other officials attended the meeting.

The meeting assessed the situation after the work was awarded to the Adani Group and the steps initiated at various levels, including the pre-bid meeting for selecting Independent Engineer.
