Vizhinjam: land price revised

The District Level Purchase Committee (DLPC) has revised the price of land to be acquired for a warehouse and road connectivity to the Vizhinjam International Multipurpose Deepwater Seaport Project.

The A category plots in Kottukal village to be acquired by the government for setting up the warehouse will get Rs.7.15 lakh a cent as compensation, B category Rs. 6.65 lakh a cent and C category Rs. 6 lakh a cent and D category Rs.5.40 lakh a cent.

In adjoining Vizhinjam village, landowners surrendering the plots classified as A category for laying of the new road will get Rs. 6.65 lakh a cent, B category Rs.6 lakh a cent and Rs.5.40 lakh a cent for C category plots.

District Collector Biju Prabhakar, who also heads the DLPC, said the landowners submitting the consent to surrender land on the basis of revised price to the Special Tahsildar (Land acquisition) before December 15 would be given compensation on the basis of the order of submission of the letter.

The details of the land in the various categories would be available at the office of the Special Tahsildar, Land acquisition; office of the Vizhinjam International Seaport Ltd.; and in the land acquisition wing in the District Collectorate, he said.
