Chief Minister to inaugurate celebrations

Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will launch a series of programmes as part of the fourth anniversary celebrations of the United Democratic Front (UDF) government here on Monday.

Mr. Chandy will inaugurate the celebrations at the University Senate Hall at 4 p.m. The programmes are aimed at taking to the public the government motto, development and care. A release said here on Saturday that various welfare schemes would be launched as part of the celebrations. It has been decided to launch the anniversary celebrations in all districts.

Advertisements to be released in connection with the celebrations would be in line with the Supreme Court directive on government releases. The next Cabinet meeting would consider the option of going on appeal on the order on advertisements. — Special Correspondent
