A two-day ‘Fellows Programme’ organised by the Cardiological Society of India (CSI) for postgraduate students in Cardiology began at the Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST) here on Saturday.

The largest postgraduate training programme in the country, the programme is intended to help post-doctoral students (those doing DM and DNB in Cardiology) strengthen their basics and face exams confidently.

Over 250 post-doctoral students from major teaching hospitals across the country and faculty who are regular examiners in different universities are participating in the programme in which the trainees will be taken through case discussions, case-in-the-box sessions on clinical scenarios, and mock vivas.

There will be an imaging session that goes through all modern imaging technologies; a research session which will teach cardiology trainees to write articles and review and research methodologies, and interactive sessions on ECG, chest X-ray, and so on.

The programme is being supported by the CSI Kerala chapter; SCTIMST; Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram; and Pushpagiri Medical College, Thiruvalla.
