The Thiruvananthapuram city police will enforce regulations on traffic towards Shangumugham and Thiruvallam in view of the Karkidaka Vavu Bali ritual on Saturday.

Shangumugham beach

Vehicles to the domestic terminal of the Thiruvananthapuram International Airport will proceed along Enchakkal, Kallummoodu, Ponnara bridge and Valiyathura. Only vehicles of those performing the ritual proceeding from the Chakka side to Shangumugham would be permitted to take the regular route. These vehicles should be parked at the designated areas and not on the sides of the road. Vehicles cannot be parked along the Shangumugham–Airport road stretch where barricades have been put up.

At Shangumugham, vehicles should be parked at the Tsunami beach park, Motor Vehicles Department ground, one side of the road in Sulaiman Street near the domestic terminal, Shangumugham Devi temple ground and one side of the Shangumugham-Vettucaud road.

Thiruvallam

Heavy vehicles from the Vizhinjam side will be take the deviation from Mukkola in Vizhinjam and proceed towards Balaramapuram from Friday midnight till the completion of the Bali ritual. Vehicles would not be permitted to head towards the Thiruvallam direction during the period. Likewise, heavy vehicles headed towards Vizhinjam from Chakka will take the deviation at Enchakkal and proceed along Attakulangara, Killipalam and Pappanamcode.

Vehicles from Karumam side should take the deviation at the old Thiruvallam junction and proceed towards Pachalloor. Those from Kovalam side will have to head towards Enchakkal along the NH-66 bypass.

Vehicles transporting those making offerings cannot be parked along the Kumarichantha-Thiruvallam-Pachalloor stretch of the NH-66 bypass and on the stretch from Thiruvallam junction to Ambalathara, and Thiruvallam-Old Thiruvallam junction-Karumam-Chithrajali studio.

The designated parking areas are the parking ground of the BNV School in Thiruvallam, one side of the service road of the Thiruvallam-Vazhamuttom bypass road, and one side of the service road on the western side of the Kumarichantha-Thiruvallam bypass road.
