Third front a damp squib: Sudheeran

October 08, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:50 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

The proposal to create a third front in Kerala with the BJP as the lead party has proved to be a damp squib, KPCC president V.M. Sudheeran has said.

The forces that had taken the initiative to form the new coalition had now realised it was not going to work, he said while inaugurating the State executive of the Kerala Pradesh Mahila Congress here on Wednesday. Indirectly hinting at the involvement of SNDP leaders in the effort to create the new alliance, Mr. Sudheeran said they were only trying to use the BJP for their vested interests. The resistance to their efforts to hobnob with the Sangh Parivar had left them groping for a way out, he said.

Mahila Congress State president Bindu Krishna presided over the function.
