October 27, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:44 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Vinson. M. Paul, Director, Vigilance and Anti Corruption Bureau, on Monday said that not all decisions that result in losses could be viewed as those taken with ulterior motive.

Speaking at a Vigilance week function here, Mr. Paul said Vigilance scrutiny should be a litmus test to identify whether those decisions were taken in good faith or not.

Effective tool

He said government departments and public sector units should support the culture of whistleblowers in their organisation to build them into an effective tool of vigilance mechanism.

Decision-makers should show the courage by listening to those who might be speaking necessary but unpalatable truths.
