Students fall from bus, injured

Door of KSRTC bus opens mid-journey at Vazhuthacaud

Three Plus Two students and one Class 10 student of Government Higher Secondary School for Girls, Cotton Hill, were injured when they fell from a Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) bus after its door opened near the All India Radio campus, Vazhuthacaud, here on Thursday evening.

The injured students were identified as Krishna, twins Vinni and Vinnu, and Sreedevi, the youngest of them.

Vinnu is under observation at Government Medical College, Thiruvananthapuram for a suspected head injury.

One discharged

Vinni and Krishna too are in the same hospital, whereas Sreedevi has been discharged from a private hospital at Edappazhanji.

The incident occurred around 4.30 p.m.The bus, belonging to the Vellanad depot, was on its way from East Fort to Vilappilsala, when the bus door opened and the students fell, the Museum police said.

A teacher in the bus told the police that a number of students were travelling on the bus.
