Global Handwashing Day, a global advocacy day dedicated to increasing awareness and understanding the importance of handwashing with soap as an effective and affordable way to prevent diseases, will be observed on Thursday. UNICEF, Sarva Siksha Abhiyan, Kerala Child Welfare Observatory, and Rotary International have joined hands to observe the day in 12,600 schools in the State on October 15. The State-level inauguration will take place at the Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Peroorkada, in the capital.
