SNDP nominees should quit govt. posts: KPCC

October 10, 2015 12:00 am | Updated 05:53 am IST - Thiruvananthapuram:

Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee president V.M. Sudheeran has said that the Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana (SNDP) Yogam nominees in various government establishments should show the courtesy of resigning the jobs they got as part of a political arrangement before launching criticisms against the government.

Responding to questions during a chat with the media here on Friday, Mr. Sudheeran said it was left to the individuals to decide the propriety of continuing in office, but criticising the same government while in office was not correct.

In an obvious reference to the emerging alliance between the SNDP Yogam and the BJP, Mr. Sudheeran said that the SNDP, with its ties with the BJP, was attempting to implement a communal agenda. This would not sell in Kerala, something which the SNDP leadership is aware of.

Mr. Sudheeran maintained that the Congress would strongly oppose the moves to take the State backwards to the dark ages.

No differences

“There are no differences among party leaders on this issue. The Congress, however, does not have the CPI(M) style of functioning. We believe that the communal agenda should be opposed on an ideological level and on policy perspectives and not by fostering personal grudges,” he said.
