Sheela murder case verdit on Friday

The judgment on the murder case of Sheela at Puthur here will be pronounced on Friday by Palakkad Additional Sessions Judge P.K. Haneefa. Trial of the case began December 17, 2010.

Sheela Jayakrishnan was stabbed to death on March 23, 2010, at her house at Puthur around 1 p.m.

Sheela's mother Karthiyayani Amma was also seriously injured in the attack, but she later pointed out to the police the three accused, Sampath, Kanakaraj and Manikhandan, in an identification parade.

The police arrested the three on March 28. But the first accused, Sampath, died in police custody on March 29. The custodial death of Sampath is being investigated by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI).

There were 52 prosecution witnesses and seven witnesses of the accused in the Sheela murder case.
