Seats vacant at Sainik School

The Sainik School, Kazhakuttam, has invited applications for admission to Class VI & IX (boys only) for the academic year 2016-17. 

The total number of vacancies for Class VI is 80 while Class IX has 15 vacancies. The age limit for Class VI is specified as those born between July 2, 2005 and July 1, 2006 while for Class IX, it is born between July 2, 2002 and July 1, 2003. The applicants should be studying in Class VIII in a recognised school. The last date of issue of application form and prospectus is November 21 while the last date for receipt of filled-in applications is November 30.

An entrance exam will be held on January 3, 2016 with the centres to be at Kozhikode, Ernakulam, Kottayam, Wayanad, Sainik School, Kazhakuttam and Kavaratti at Lakshadweep (subject to sufficient number of candidates).

Fifteen per cent of seats are reserved for Scheduled Castes, 7.5 per cent for Scheduled Tribes, 25 per cent for sons of Defence personnel and ex-servicemen. Different types of scholarships are given by Central/State Governments depending upon the parents’ monthly income.

The prospectus, application form and previous year question papers can be obtained from the Principal, Sainik School, Kazhakuttam, Sainik School PO, Thiruvananthapuram – 695585 on the basis of request letter along with a Demand Draft payable at Thiruvananthapuram drawn in favour of “Principal, Sainik School Kazhakuttam”.

The registration fee (including cost of Prospectus, Application form and previous year question papers)  is Rs.475/- (Rs.325/- for SC/ST candidates). 

If the candidates purchases directly from the school, the registration fee is Rs.425/- (Rs.275 for SC/ST candidates).  Further details and the application form are available on the websitewww.sainikschooltvm.nic.in, according to a press release.
