Road at Murinjapalam renamed

The Old Medical College Road, Murinjapalam will hereafter be known as Dr. R. Kesavan Nair Road in memory of the first Superintendent of the Thiruvavananthapuram Medical College Hospital and one of the founding fathers of modern medical education in the State.

The road was renamed by Thiruvananthapuram Mayor R. Chandrika at a function held on Friday. Councillors K. Murukesan, G.S. Sreekumar, former Directors of Medical Education Balaraman Nair, Sivasankara Pillai and Medical College principal Thomas Mathew were among those who spoke on the occasion.
