Kerala State Human Rights Commission chairman J.B. Koshy has criticised the move of the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation that has delayed the issuance of a death certificate citing technical reasons.
The Commission directed the local body to issue the death certificate of P. Rajagopal, who died on January 19, at the earliest. The order was issued on the basis of a complaint submitted by Rajagopal’s son, R.S. Praveen Raj, a senior scientist with the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR).
Despite having approached the Thiruvananthapuram Corporation for the death certificate, he was yet to receive the document until recently.
