Reserved wards selected

The reserved divisions of the Thiruvananthapuram district panchayat have been fixed in the run-up to the local body polls.

The women, Scheduled Castes (SC) and SC women reserved divisions were selected through drawing lots at the District Collectorate on Saturday.

12 general seats

There will be 12 general seats in the district panchayat, which has a total of 26 divisions. While 11 seats have been reserved for women, one seat has been reserved for SC and two for SC women.

The following are the divisions and the category they come under: Chemmaruthy (General), Navaikkulam (General), Kilimanoor (Women), Kallara (General), Venjaramoodu (SC), Aanadu (General), Palod (General), Aryanad (General), Vellanad (Women), Poovachal (General), Vellarada (SC women), Kunnathukal (Women), Parassala (General), Maryapuram (General), Kanjiramkulam (Women), Balaramapuram (Women), Venganoor (Women), Pallichal (Women), Malayinkeezhu (Women), Karakulam (Women), Mudakkal (Women), Kaniyapuram (General), Murukkumpuzha (SC Women), Kizhuvilum (General), Chirayinkeezhu (Women) and Manamboor (General).
