The selection of reservation wards through a draw of lots for the block panchayats in the district has been completed.
The draw of lots was conducted on Thursday in the presence of District Collector Biju Prabhakar at the Collectorate here, during which the reservation wards for the 11 block panchayats of Parassala, Perunkadavila, Athiyannoor, Nemom, Pothencode, Vellanadu, Nedumangad, Vamanapuram, Kilimanoor, Chirayinkeezhu and Varkala were selected.
Accordingly, 81 wards are reserved for women, including those from the Scheduled Caste, out of a total of 155 wards in the 11 blocks.
