Re-inventory of temple vaults on the cards

September 04, 2011 10:57 am | Updated August 03, 2016 09:10 pm IST - THIRUVANANTHAPURAM:

With the Supreme Court giving the go-ahead to an expert committee chaired by Director of the National Museum C.V. Ananda Bose to document the articles inside the underground vaults of Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple, the stage is set for a systematic and scientific documentation of the vaults' contents.

The opening of vault B still hangs fire with the Ananda Bose committee yet to take a call on the matter. The five-member committee which met here on Saturday reportedly discussed the implications of the Supreme Court's observations on September 2 and ways to go ahead with the inventorying of the temple vaults. A final decision is expected to be taken at a joint meeting of the Ananda Bose Committee and a committee headed by the former judge of the Kerala High Court M.N. Krishnan on September 6.
